I was trying to come up with a way to promote golf gifts on our site.I work on 2 golf related sites and one sells used golf clubs.Great for golfers, but not usually thought of as a great gift.

I decided to come up with a funny top 10 list.It has been up only a few hours and is already on stumbleupon and other sites and a hot topic in golf forums. I also noticed posters use top 10 lists onGooruze and many other sites. There are top 10 lists everywhere.

A funny list helps, but I think they work because the reader see’s “top ten list for…” and feel the article will be a concise list of targeted content. Good information and wont take up much time to read. If you need content and want to draw attention to your site, try a top 10 list.

I would suggest to be either serious or funny. I started the list with some serious and some funny and it just didnt work. The first few people I showed it to got confused.
