Advantage:

It will be more attractive even the Visitor who has no interest of the product will get some interest after seeing the ad.

DisAdvantages:

It takes more time and bandwidth for loading the ads, so it is really a challenge for people's using dial up internet connnection or broadband with low band width.

Creating a video ad is too expensive , an medium level advertiser cannot aford this much of money. Only the top level advertiser will be able to afford.

Conclusion:
Text ads are more effective for all levels of advertisers, ofcourse but some percentage of money spent on text ads will be for video ads.
