09 Oct Here are some some general guidelines on "reporting" versus "voting down" an article. Reporting can be very distressing for the member whose article disappears. From our opinion "Articles" should only be reported if it breaches the House Rules guidelines on the site. Examples include copyright breaches (word for word of entire article), profanity, abuse, pornographic suggestions, self promotion without any advice, etc. As a contrast, value judgments regarding the format and content of an article should be reflected in the voting of the article. For example if you find the article is too short, not of sufficient quality or not particularly related Online Marketing, then we would suggest members just vote it down by giving it very few stars in your rating. To improve on this voting down approach it would be really great to mention the concerns as a "comment" to the member's article. You may want to suggest they move the article to "Q&A" or to a "blog" if that is more appropriate. Members may delete their articles if they wish in order to improve their average vote (and thus their rank) and this helps solve poorly ranked articles which may be in the wrong place without the full reporting process.
