13 Feb Thanks to all who have provided feedback on autosave not working. We have found out what the problem is and pinpointed down to IE, FCK Editor, Word Clean Up and pop up blocker. Our Tech have provided a breakdown of the different scenarios and step by step solutions. Of course it would be great to remove the problem all together - but for now here are some tech tips to workaround the issues. 1. On IE6 or IE7: when pasting and going through FCK MS Word Cleanup tool, bullet points are converted into some strange symbols. Cause: FCK editors cleanup wizard. Workaround: a. Select the content box. b. Press CTRL+V. c. IE will ask you if want to allow this webpage to access your clipboard - select 'Allow access' (IE7) or 'Yes' (IE6). d. A dialog will appear saying 'The text you want to paste seems to be copied from Word. Do you want to clean it before pasting'. Select 'Cancel'. e. IE will ask you again if you want to allow this webpage to access your clipboard - select 'Allow access' (IE7) or 'Yes' (IE6). f. The content should be pasted into the browser with formatting preserved. 2. On IE6, pasting in from Word results in a dialog asking you if your wish to clean up text copied from word, and then no action after that - no pasted text. Cause: the user selected 'Ok' when asked if they wanted to clean up the text copied from Word, and they have the Google toolbar installed. The Google toolbar ships with a popup blocker that will by default prevent the FCKeditor Paste-From-Word dialog from appearing. It will make a sound on the computers speaker and increase the blocked popup count on the toolbar, but otherwise give no indication that the popup has been blocked. Workaround: disable the popup blocker in Google toolbar or set it up to enable popups for gooruze.com. 3. On IE7, the content dissapeared after pasting in content or adding an image. Cause: an action with FCKeditor caused a popup window to appear. IE7 blocked the popup and displayed the 'infobar' at the top of the page to allow the user to disable the block. The user disabled the block using the infobar, which then reloads the page, resetting the pages content. Workaround: there is no workaround. Either ensure popups are enabled ahead of time, or copy the contents of the content to the clipboard before enabling popups via the infobar.
