November 2007 I think I understand - at the moment I vote even though I don't feel inclined to comment. I would rather not be forced to comment when I vote - as sometimes I don't have anything to say and yet enjoying voting and being a part of the community.

November 2007 my thoughts are...
if i submitted something and it got a 1...i'd like to know why.. boldadam complained about getting 1s on his posts/comments... maybe someone had a legit reason... same with 5s..... just my thoughts. Reply

November 2007 i understand the reasoning, but some people dont take criticism extremely well (or at all) and so this may cause some serious gooruze fights ;)
For example, lets say I vote someone down for poor formatting (article was really hard to read), the author may take offence at that. Actually this is a poor example, but anyway. I think the idea is interesting, but I tend to agree with Jackie, 90% of the time I feel educated on the topic enough to vote on the item, but probably only 10% of the time educated on the topic enough to comment on the item. November 2007 instead of people being able to vote on anything and leaving NO feedback..votes on the article/comment/answer would require a comment.
