17 Oct It appears to me, that Australian business community is somewhat slow in fully adopting online marketing and take it seriously as a way of attracting new clients. Having recently been searching for several products for my house, I was amazed that many of these searches were quite commerical in nature, generated no paid adverts. When I did manage to find a company's website, I was disappointed as many were just "brochure-ware" - just HTML version of their Yellow Pages adverts. I know we have some great web talent in Australia capable of presenting a business in a positive light and awesome marketing talent capable of getting the visitors there. Now all we need is the business owners to step up and be proud to have an onlne presense.

February 7th Gee, I was saying that in 2003 when I started full-time SEO work.
Things are improving, as many companies raise awareness of search marketing. With PPC, there is a tendency for small business owners to try running their own campaign without understanding how to use the tool. They burn their money and give up paid advertising as a bad joke.As for web designers, let them be. Their ignorance of SEO keeps us SEOs in employment. ![]() Reply
