25 Feb I recently got rejected for an inhouse affiliate marketing position because i have no experience in it (despite having a lot of enthusiasm and great work ethic). But i really want the job. Any advice how to go about getting my foot in the door with this...at least getting a face to face interview? I'd like to find a class/seminar or something that will give me some additional credibility beyond extensive web research.

February 27th You need to get some experience as an affiliate before you will be a good manager. Look for a program where you don't need to host a custom website yourself if you don't have that skill. Then hang out at affiliate forums so you know the jargon and the main players. See what affiliates like, what they dislike. Learn about cookie hijacking and other bad practices -- so that you can answer questions about them. Learn about tools for managing affiliates and how the website will handle their signups and commissions. That's for starters.
