According to the National Legal and Policy Center, Google’s taking it a bit far: Earlier this summer, the National Legal and Policy Center (NLPC) researched the extent of copyrighted material being hosted on Google Video and released a ?Top 50? list of apparently copyrighted movies. September 2007 Google will need to clean up it's act. I heard the founder of youtube, Chad Hurley, the other day on stage and it did seem that he questioned the acquisition by Google, would he have sold if it wasn't for the legality issues of some of the content on youtube? It's bad though for social networking, especially when you want to see a clip of say two comedians really fighting and they "google" take it off youtube. The joys of a start up before its acquired :0)
