30 Apr This post is from from my other blog here As I have just sent a similar list to someone whose comments were held automatically for moderation (like all new commenters), and whose comments will not be appearing (I have yet to decide whether I will flag them as spam or just delete them), I thought I would post them here for reference. This is a list of warning signs, which generally I spend just a few seconds on, though looking at a new commenter's blog or website is something I try to do even if they leave a great comment.
27 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Steve has put together a great list of startup resources covering aspects not normally considered by most Web2.0 developers.
27 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Brian on Twitter - glad he is blogging once in a while again

27 Apr This post is from from my other blog here WordPress wank is one of the best places to find alternative news about Wordpress.com, before the topics get deleted at source such as discussion threads.
26 Apr This post is from from my other blog here The new WordPress.com possibly related posts is game changing - and gaming changing if they get it right. The following are some notes I am taking whilst testing
Some notes about these links
23 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Dave "theGypsy" with a post mentioning PageRank without making a terrible mistake - 9/10 SEOs know less than Dave. Careful quoting Brian though, he doesn't think PageRank (just some) is needed to rank.
23 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Over a year ago I questioned the use of tagging on WordPress.com to spread link equity around as "a rising tide". If you use similar tags to a high profile blogger, it can help with faster indexing and rankings, at least from what I have observed. In many ways the effect is similar to linkfarms, using the tagging as a central hub. Many commentators complain when they see Technorati tag pages appearing in the Google SERPs, because Technorati doesn't have a huge amount of editorial control over the content of those pages, they are more like search results. In that situation however for ...
21 Apr This post is from from my other blog here John Reese reveals some of the personal side to his business - I could really use that planning room. I actually stumbled his Flickr with these photos earlier, not realising he had also posted a blog post with a lot more information. What are you doing to improve your business transparency?
20 Apr This post is from from my other blog here John Reese has started publishing a lot of personal photos - I could really use that planning room.
20 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Headlines Suck!
If your headline doesn't stand out like a woman's nipples who's just won a wet t-shirt competition, your sales message or blog article will not get read.
Without a sizzling, persuasive headline or title on your website, your blog, your advert or sales letter . . . your sales will suck harder than a hooker on the strip in Vegas.
19 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Probably the most comprehensive review of Volusion I have read (actually many months ago) It actually has more details than I could offer in my review over a year ago, and is written by a long-term customer
19 Apr This post is from from my other blog here I have learnt a huge amount from Ken Evoy over the years, he provides some of the best free ebooks to learn about affiliate marketing and pre-selling ever written. His SiteBuildIt system has created many successful online businesses and was doing this long before WordPress became popular. In his email to affiliates today he announced a new sales page attacking blogging head on. Blogging has reached lemming status. Without even thinking, many small businesses equate blogging with having a Web site. This is obviously wrong for small businesses with something to sell (ex., services, e-book sellers, etc.). But it's also the wrong choice for ...
18 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Another tell-a-friend like Facebook / Myspace / Linkedin etc script seems to have launched today http://www.viraloptingenerator.com/index.php This script is different to Optin Accelerator in a number of ways
In theory that makes it almost exactly the same as the scripts used by the big boys of Web2.0 though their servers are less likely to conk out the first time someone with 200 contacts in Gmail uses the script if you are on shared or even most reseller hosting. You would probably have problems ...
18 Apr This post is from from my other blog here
I would even extend that to buying any form of paid link or sponsored review, and possibly also links from directories, social networks, blog commenting etc. Last June I provided a very simple guide to avoid being banned from Technorati but the same principle applies to many forms ...
13 Apr This post is from from my other blog here When I first read about Optin Accelerator I had a few initial thoughts
Now I hoped that as soon as people realised it was a bad idea despite having massive ...
08 Apr This post is from from my other blog here
Last July SpeedPPC launched to huge critical acclaim and they even created this cool demonstration video of how it works.
There is a higher quality version of this on the SpeedPPC site I know many of my readers spend 1000s on custom solutions for PPC management. SpeedPPC isn't a tracking solution. What it does is build highly optimized landing pages which can enhance your keyword ...
08 Apr This post is from from my other blog here A tribute letter written by Gary Halbert's last protegé, Sam Markowitz Today marks one year since Gary passed away, and Sam is sharing 5 secrets he learned from Gary. If you are a true marketer, thumb the hell out of this

07 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Clickbank affiliates who log into their accounts on a regular basis will already be aware of this, but a few days ago Clickbank (finally) launched a blog (WordPress) - they intend to publish a couple of time per week, which will be very welcome for both Clickbank publishers and affiliates. Clickbank are one of the largest affiliate organizations in the world, but news from Clickbank often took a long time to filter out of the organization, often only through people with inside connections such as Harvey Segal at the Clickbank Forum.
Also being a private company they have never been obligated to ...
07 Apr This post is from from my other blog here One of these days I am going to get on the Guru's list :) Whilst I have been an advocate of paid reviews, every single review I have written has been a "good link" - people weren't paying for the links, maybe not even for the traffic and attention - it was more about me taking the time to look at their service in-depth. From the page: "It's not even about Google or any search engine. A hi-powered link doesn't get it's power because a search engine trusts it. A link gets it's power because PEOPLE trust it and that is what makes ... Click here to read the entire blog post

07 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Lot of blogs, either using plugins or a little custom PHP code publish articles that are intended purely for their subscribers, with the content appearing only in their RSS feeds, or in emails generated from the RSS Feed. Totally IllogicalLets look at this from a number of points of logic
06 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Whilst this might be personally biased, it is my opinion that my Gary Halbert quote in my recent Players With Money Review is probably better content than 90% of what is submitted to Sphinn, and on its own might even have been front page material if posted on a blog that was actively promoting their content on Sphinn. The whole article is better than 99% of Sphinn content I wonder how many people on Sphinn have even heard of Gary Halbert? It seems like the Sphinn moderators were having another hissy fit - they see an article written intended to promote a product ...
05 Apr This post is from from my other blog here What am I doing driving people to Sphinn? I love balanced reviews
05 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Gary Halbert has been an inspiration to online marketers What I want to impress upon you is… if possible… you should endeavor to confine your selling efforts to… Players With Money! Why? First of all, it is easier to sell something to someone with money. It's an obvious fact that person has the money to buy what you're selling. If you've got a $500,000 house for sale, it doesn't matter how appealing the house is if the family you're pitching it to has a pitifully low total income. But there's another fact you mustn't overlook. People with money usually means they also have an ...
05 Apr This post is from from my other blog here I might actually be more evil than John Chow, but haven't revealed my motives, but Vlad seems to think I am a "Good Person"
Vlad's video was inspired by Gary Vaynerchuk Vlad or Volodymyr Zablotskyy has been going through some hell over the last couple of week, with some rather nasty attacks on his online reputation, brought about due to some quite explosive discussion about ePerks. I have been helping with some support in the background for the last couple of weeks, though most of the problems Vlad was able to take care of by himself. In my mind, though I only know Vlad ...
05 Apr This post is from from my other blog here A good overview of many notable blog and very specifically why people should read them. Take note of the numbered legend
03 Apr This post is from from my other blog here Alex managed to get 457 visitors from BlogRush to one of his posts with only 3888 headline impressions Yes… the headline he used was hype and a little controversial, but ultimately as he concludes, often that is what will draw traffic. As a bonus he also gained 90 visitors from TrafficJam Ultimately success with BlogRush is really down to the blogger. If they don't get traffic from BlogRush, maybe they need to work a little on their headlines and experiment. Note:This is targeted traffic who know what the article they will see is about before they read it, unlike something like Stumbleupon, and he ...
