26 Dec This post is from from my other blog here So I hit my 500th tweet today on Twitter. Kind of a geeky milestone, but I've gotten a lot of using the tool as of yet. Here is my 500th tweet:"The greater danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” (Michaelangelo) - Thanks to my wife for the inspiration. Some things I've gained from Twitter:
17 Dec I've been going through an initial round of resumes for our Online Marketing Manager role. I started off with the title "Marketing and Communications Manager" (MARCOM) and received a lot of traditional resumes with traditional skillsets. I beefed up the role description to include many of the things that are crucial like Search, Email, User Acquisition/Retention, Social Media, etc and change the title to "Digital Marketing Manager" then to "Online Marketing Manager." I received hybrid types of marketers who are in the 4-6 years of experience range with a diverse set of skills. Interesting little study. I'm also asking them if they've heard of Gooruze as a marketer in this day and age, if you expect to keep taking on bigger roles, you need to stay aware of communities like this, even if you're just a lurker.

Technology + Marketing = Strategy in this new age of the web. This goes right back to the feedback I wrote about Advertising Agencies requiring more hybrid talent and the increase in the acquisitions of digital shops with these talents. Do you want to spend time baking the pie when you can go to the store and buy one? (it was the quickest metaphor that came to my mind, holiday treats) More info on LinkedIn here
07 Dec This post is from from my other blog here It's late, but I wanted to post this before I headed to bed to get some people's feedback on the whole green movement that has been happening over the past couple of years with The Inconvenient Truth, Grist, WorldChanging, Vanity Fair, Wired; the list goes on. I had the opportunity to be right in the mix of it all with the launch of BeGreenNow.com. It was a great project and we geared up for a big push, but the idea of carbon credit offsetting wasn't too appealing for mass market adoption. I just revisited the website today and it seems ...
