26 Feb So I'm staying at the Hard Rock Hotel in Vegas and will be attending this two day conference with some big names in the customer-centric arenas. Here is the link to the show. There's been a lot of mentions how Customer Service is the new marketing, be more customer-focused, etc. From my experience if you don't know your customers, how can you market to them? How can you engage them? There's much to be said about the traditional aspects of understanding the people you are trying to communicate with and there are people like Jeremiah Owyang with his post on hard data about audiences that makes me remember the intricacies of trying to engage people who don't know you exist. If you aren't creating personas, audience profiles or character types; now is the time to rethink how all of the tactics you are using are really being received by your audience...
12 Feb This post is from from my other blog here You know, you sign up for something and you think it's a god send, your savior and then it goes and starts harassing your friends and family. Ever come across software like that, uh hmm ... Plaxo, SMS.AC, etc. There's a new one called I Want Sandy and people over at GetSatisfaction are complaining about how it's pinging their contacts and trying to get them to sign up. Even if there's a feature to turn this off, what were they thinking when they created this functionality if they knew it was like opening Pandora's box? Anyone else have any interesting ... 11 Feb This post is from from my other blog here I was on our flight down to Riviera Maya in Mexico to celebrate our 1 year anniversary and invite both families down to share in our joyous occasion, when I started thinking about everything I was reading about the upcoming recession and how the government was giving us back money only to have "us" being consumers go and buy unnecessary items.
