So, just by reducing your bid from the recommended $13.66 to $2.50 you still average being in the top spot and only possible miss out on 11% of the available clicks? If the CPC averages only $1.40, why do they suggest the bid of $13.66?I thought that when they switched to Panama that we’d see crazy bids disappear from Yahoo! due to bid-jamming and the implementation of a quality score formula.I have taken over accounts from clients who have had super-high bids and always wondered where they got the bids they had set from. The more and more people who just set their bids at the “default” bid will cause the suggested bid to increase. The reason that the CPCs for Yahoo! decrease is that the people who go in and keep the bids at the absurd $13.00 + recommendations blow through their daily budgets (if they even know how to set one).

I use Twitter everyday. The excellent Adobe Air powered TWIRL makes it simple and non-obtrusive. I even use Twitter on my iPhone using Hahlo if I am away from my Mac.The one thing I find myself doing is wishing I could see all responses to an individual user so I can see the entire conversation. Quotably allows you to do just that.Hit the site, enter a Twitter user name, and see all of the responses they received for a specific Tweet.I have found some excellent people to follow using this great web app.

I set up a small campaign in MSN this morning. I nearly spit my coffee all over my screen when I saw that the "recommended" bids for the keywords in the group was $29.86 a CLICK! This is not the recommended daily budget for the group, but the BID for EACH keyword.Check it out:Insane.

Obama is leading the search volume over Clinton and McCain. Is this an indicator of his popularity or an indicator of his supporters using the internet more. He has raised a ton of money using the web (he even puts out updates using TWITTER).

Google had a data issue for Analytics users. "Almost: all of the data has been recovered. The e-commerce data seems to be the data with the biggest issues.

Time again for AdWords maintenance...Saturday 1-5 EST.What can you do to pass the time?- Play GTA IV for 5 hours.- Keep hitting refresh hoping that they completed the maintenance sooner than they thought.- Eat an entire pizza. Target vomit.- See if MSN is still doing paid search. - Go to the grocery store and open and smell the Gillette 3x Triple Protection System Wild Rain Antiperspirant Deodorant Clear Gel. Complain to other shoppers that it does not smell "wild" just "mildly rambunctious". - Re-lace your sneakers.- Do a Google Image Search and see if you can find a picture of Dallas Star Mike Modano with his mouth closed.- Open up the AdWords Editor on Saturday morning. Download your account. Then Saturday afternoon fire it up and work on your account. Try some new ads. Do some landing page testing. Then simply post the changes at 6PM or so.Have a great weekend!

Today, Al from MaketingDon shot me a quick Twitter message asking for me to search for golf shoes in Google. I found them ranked at #5. He told me to open up Safari and do the same search. I was shocked when I found them ranked #3 for that term. This was just moments after my search in FireFox. His results had him at #4 in IE!Take a look at the screenshots. He even found that refreshing his results causes the rankings to move around.

Yahoo! has made a move to provide protection to web searchers. They have introduced SearchScan (Beta) to “help protect you from viruses, spammy email, and potentially damaging software by identifying websites that may harm your computer. It is a great move to combat spammers who use manipulation of natural search results to conduct business.
