Then, the news came… RMO had a WordPress issue. When the database was activated, every time it got accessed, such as when somebody browsed RMO, the action triggers “massively high server loads,” that’s their word and we have no idea what they meant except that it was bad tidings. ReapMoneyOnline’s blog comments policy is to combine best practices that appreciate the effort and time expended by visitors in interacting with us authors and other visitors. Right at the start, RMO is a DoFollow blog with the CommentLuv installed. We have scrapped the FeedBurner plugin because we read somewhere that it negates the benefits of [...]

Ever joined one of those traffic networks or exchanges where we earn credits for viewing sites for a certain period of time? We tried one of those many months ago but quit after only a few days as we could tell the traffic was useless for our purpose because (1) most websites in there were [...]

Way back we asked around webmastering forums what the best WYSIWYG blog editor is. Usually, the geeky answer was “nothing.” Unfortunately we are not techie enough to disregard visual editors like TinyMCE but we can relate with these webmasters’ frustrations with them. There were times when TinyMCE’s visual editing feature balks. The last time it did, [...]

Flash sites, in the hands of a creative designer, can be truly awesome. However, one major obstacle for web pages built on Flash, aside from the bandwidth requirement, is that search engines, particularly Google and Yahoo, cannot index them. Webmasters has gone around this hitch by building another text-intensive HTML page alongside a Flash page [...]

Platinum SEO is a comprehensive Search Engine Optimization (SEO) WordPress plugin that comes with everything but the kitchen sink. However, before we tackle it, let’s make sure that our permalinks are already search engine friendly.

WordPress’ permalinks out-of-the-box provides a string of symbols and numbers for the title of our blog or posts. We have to set it before we make our first post as all posts prior to the change will become inaccessible, which is exactly what happened to RMO’s first.

To prettify our permalinks, simply do the following:

  1. Go to WordPress admin dashboard, then settings and permalinks.
  2. Select an option from the ...

communication on July 1, 2008  that basically states that the content of Flash or SWF files will now be indexed by Google. Previously, the said file is inaccessible to and absolutely ignored by the Google bots… that was the popular thinking. It turns out that Google and Yahoo have the capability to access the content of a SWF file, they were merely prevented from doing so by the proprietary nature of Adobe’s Flash.

Now, Adobe didn’t only lift that obstacle, it is also working actively with the said search engines to index previously inaccessible content by providing ...
