It was so cool that the whole process is better described here

"Mum's the word"

"Clay had no budget to get some copy written in a hurry for a direct email shot out to a church email list. I heard about this when he Twittered, asking if anyone could help. I got in touch but I couldn’t really help.

It didn’t matter because in the meantime, Clay had a better idea: he already had an abundance of engaged, communicative, passionate Minti customers who would share a lot in common with the women on this group email list. Why not run a competition to see who could write the best email for Minti?

Clay gave them a short brief, his own attempt at the email, a deadline of only three days, and a prize for the winner of M$20,000 (about $USD40, which can be used on Minti.)

Some of the entries were very good, and the winning entry nailed it, showing Clay and Minti exactly what it is that makes Minti special to its customers (rather than its investors, partners, press and employees.)"

How big is this market? A great marketing campaign over here in Perth which is all the craze is, carbon neutrality schemes (carbon offset)...is going green in marketing making more sales?

Campaigns I've seen

- Carbon offset flights by Qantas

- Carbon offseting by the big banks

I wonder if this is just business making use of popular public empathy for the environment to attract more of the same wallet or is big business really making an effort to change???

I am sure websites are also displaying ads saying click here to offset carbon for the environment.

Here's a thought, every programmer around the world, developing their own 'strike it rich' web app. Will there be any room for business to provide products on the internet? The barriers of entry to develop is becoming lower and lower with Web 2.0 and the rise of the social web. What will be the next killer apps, is all that we can think of right now. But, is there something else, is there a universe that we cant conceive of yet that will provide the next killer companies???

Who knows, but I have ten years to find out...maybe a killer app killer company??

Rael, who used to be involved with O'Reilly Media is working on a new product "I want Sandy" why is this important to me? Well, I have a real issue with email and being an organized person I can't stand that I cannot get on top of my email..I know its crazy for someone that gets over 1000 plus email in a few days as well as all the communication from all the social networks I belong to. I really believe email will morph into just "communication data feed into a tool that provides that data turned into any form of communication medium to the person that requires it presented in many ways".

Thus, the reason why I have angel invested into Orgoo! and will be working with them on giving them my product wish list for Orgoo's product. Well, I want Sandy is also about turning my emails into meaningful projects, maybe that is the part answer to my wish list data communication tool. Xobni was okay it's like a search tool for email, that's good for people that work everyday and need to search, but my needs are very different, it's just if those needs are reflected by my generation and those coming after me...

I really do think that Web 3.0 maybe be closer than we think, but I believe the only way of getting there is providing a tool whereby "all electronic communication data I receive in every single way is pushed to me in ONE platform to ANY form or medium I wish"...I am giving some of it away but not all - lol

It sounds all to Star Trek eh? lol

Being in this space since May 2005, I have signed up to many social networks, but only a few capture my tastes. Here is my google doc published page "Rachel (mintigals) social networking page"

Yes, of course, Minti is first and then Gooruze - I bet in the future media companies will be garnering demographics just by knowing what social networks I frequent. Eg: Minti (mom), Gooruze (online marketer), linkedin (entrepreneur) etc

Will this be something that companies track, my comments, my preference keywords in blog posts, my friends demographic - an interesting and implicating thought. No doubt Identity Woman has a lot to say about this topic.

After a very passionate Clay Cook convincing the Vibe team that the online marketing industry needs the vibEngine, I am very proud to say this vertical from the Vibe family of technologies is going to be a very useful tool for companies wishing to spend more of their advertising budget in this space and be able to learn and understand why, where and how.

By being able to contact the Guru's direct, possibly increase our guru's client base as well, Gooruze facilitates this interaction and increases the importance of this medium with companies not spending enough in this space.  As well as provide articles from which to drive the targeted traffic to gurus from all over the web, helping find online marketers in one place and speed up the learning time for these companies yearning to wade through so much of this sometimes baffling content on the web.

I think back in May 2005 my dream for an advice site for parents to capture golden advice to come true was amazing, but to see the vision rolled out into many verticals such as Gooruze is a true testament to the teams that become involved with the vibEngine technology and all those who work hard behind these companies as well.

Hats off to the entrepreneurs behind Vibe's web properties and the team members that bring another addition alive, that is Gooruze.
