30 Nov This post is from from my other blog here I just wanted to throw a quick shout out and highlight a post from one whacky dude by the name of Michael Martinez (http://seo-theory.com/). For the uninitiated he is one smart fella with a penchant for ranting. How can a brother go wrong? Some folks like him, some dont. It sounds like my world. Anyway, I have for the most part, avoided this entire Google V. PaidLinks fiasco to this point. Until I have more time to write about it, I am staying in my cave on that one. What I do like is that Michael discusses some of the inherent flaws in the whole PageRank methodology. I am in complete agreement on that and have longed to see better usage of many of the systems/methods that exist out there for them to leverage. I certainly understand the addiction to a link-reliant system, I simply think they can do better. As he also notes, the TBPR was truly a useless metric until recently when Google put the light back on it. I have to wonder if that is its main purpose these days. I cant see that it is being used primarily for end users to decide on the value of a site. What is more likely is that it is being kept around as part of a real PR Campaign (as in public relations :0)Take a ride; Where to buy PageRankPassing LinksAll in all (another) good read and I thought to pass it along.
