Bio

Hi, my name is Tommy. For about 20 years I've worked mostly on the agency side in the high-tech B2B market space. Most recently I was the VP of Marketing for a virtual, online software company. I also have a pretty strong background in PR, market research, and account planning. My MA in Communications is from LSU and the Bachelor of Arts in Industrial and Organizational Psychology and Communications from Western Illinois University. Currently I am doing consulting thing (it is nice). I live outside St. Louis. My blog is located here.

MarketingSherpa has just put up a new case study, SEO Tactics to Quadruple Lead Generation: Link-Building, Keyword Targeting & Landing Page Tests. Nothing really new here and no creative samples (my favorite part of their case studies BTW) from each of the campaigns. However, if you are new to this field it might be one of the most straightforward and concise overviews of these topics I've seen. From their overview:

"Face the daunting task of carving out their market niche at a time when generating leads is most critical. To get established, a videoconferencing firm embarked on a search strategy while conducting landing page tests. They’re now one of the most visible online presences in their market and are converting 8.17% of Web visitors--nearly a 400% increase--into leads. Includes tips on optimizing press releases, tagging and link building with partners."

The MarketingSherpa case study is free available until November 22, 2007. Go check it out.
