I just noticed, when I search in Google on my iPhone, adwords paid search ads do not show up. If you search a word, and by chance Google has paid listing at the top of the page, these will show but none of the paid ads on the right side of the page will show. I pulled up the same pages in Safari browser on a laptop and the ads served perfectly on the right hand side, so it is an iPhone issue. This is lost sales for adwords customers and lost rev for Google! | ||||||||

October 2007 Clay, I actually think it is a glitch. However, Apple has no immediate need to fix unless Google puts the pressure on OR helps with the fix (which would benefit both parties).

November 2007 Some updates, As I had a iPod Touch, which is actually the same system as iPhone. When I searched something in the Sarafi, such as "business school", the ads shows in my iPod Touch for “Melbourne business school” (on the top). However, when I searched the same thing in my PC, I kept refreshing, and I did not see any of Melbourne business school ads. Also, Al, if you visit google in your iPhone, you may see the URL is actually google.com/m. Therefore, I think the interface is just for mobile and other handheld devices, hence the different advertising distribution method. From my point of view, iPhone as well as other devices with small screens (well, comparably small), the web page will lose its usability if it is too wide, i.e. the ads on the right hand side, and I don't think the users will pay attention to that.
