November 2007 Great idea - its the only real way to learn Adwords - with real money and a real business to point the traffic at.

November 2007 Thanks Marc,
It would be fantastic for the Gooruze community to get behind this contest, such as urging academics to have their students compete next year. There is often a huge chasm between what goes on in the classroom and what goes on in real life. For example, a respected eCommerce/eMarketing academic commenting on the proposed Google Online Marketing Challenge said just last month, "I wish Google luck with their new product, AdWords, but doubt that it will ever take off." Please share the Google Online Marketing Challenge with your academic contacts and urge them to enter their students in the 2008 competition. Reply

This competition is absolutely exciting. As a student in the class, and the winner team member of the beta test, I have to thank Jamie again for bringing such a fun and useful teaching tool into the class. The three weeks campaign provided us (the students) the insight of Adwords system and at the same time provided our client extra visits and business. All the students in the class no matter win or lose learned intensive knowledge and concepts about Adwords, Analytics, SEO and the dynamic competition in the "REAL" world. It's my favorite learning component ever In a word to conclude, fabulous! Reply

November 2007 I remember doing a similar marketing challenge when I was at Uni - I loved it. This is a brilliant idea as every young ecommerce graduate should understand AdWords as it has become the backbone of all online businesses whether as a source of leads or income. This is also deperately needed by the industry as we struggle to attract trained adwords technicians. I agree we should all get behind this! Reply
