Mercedes Benz, one of the world's most recognized car makers, announced plans to overhaul their various websites to embrace rich media content and tools. Rich media is nothing new to car promotion online, but the German bred automotive icon has been a bit slow of the mark to catch up to its counterparts.

The announcement of the new rich media initiatives was made on Monday, with the German website the only one parading the new design direction. The remainder of Mercedes Benz's sites are set to get the overhaul in the not too distant future. As news.com suggested - perhaps this symbolizes a shift towards the younger driver market by the prestige car maker.
