Cyber Monday saw $733 million in online spending, representing a 21-percent increase versus last year and an 84-percent jump from the average daily online spending totals during the preceding four weeks.
There is nothing like this outside of US I don't think - can americans please explain to the rest of us - what works and what doesn't work on cyber monday - for eg does B2B work or is it all about consumerables?
I have seen in another B2B business our usual emails achieved a very low response. I'm assuming the excitement is all consumer stuff? Just interested to hear your thoughts.

November 2007 Good question. The fact a lot of americans take Thanksgiving holidays, and generally do not get back tell sunday night I am sure helps. That first day back in the office, you look around and realize, shoot, its almost December, which means xmas is right around the corner. Its that sudden realization that you have 134 presents to buy for family and friends.

November 2007 it's odd isn't it because I believe the the friday after thanksgiving thursday is actually the biggest day shopping for the year (off the web that is).... then it seems that everyone takes the weekend off and then goes shopping online on the Mon?
