This video was shot about two weeks before the beacon storm hit the news:

Thoughts on Open Social from Dave Morin, Josh Williams, Eric Yieh, Darin Divinia @ the Dallas Facebook Developer Garage.

I asked the panelists what they thought about the Open Social platform. The answer from Facebook's Dave Morin is particularly interesting considering the firestorm Facebook had to weather two weeks after this session was videotaped:

"...one thing we care about...fundamentally is privacy. You Know, respecting our users' privacy and what they've set up for their privacy settings and things like that and that's a core tenant of facebook. It has been since the very beginning. Your ability to control who sees what you do and all that kind of stuff is something that's very important to facebook and open social doesn't really provide that."

...and then came Beacon...
