Ask.com today announced a new feature called AskEraser that deletes a user's search activity data from the company's servers.

The initiative, by fourth-ranked search engine Ask.com, marks the latest round in a "privacy race" that has seen the search companies rush to outdo each other this year in bringing new protection for their users.

It is a good start from Ask and will get them some publicity. 

Now if only Ask could focus on getting their results fresher and increasing the size of their index.....
