Brian Chappell (our of our top gooruze members) has posted a great article on Marketing Pilgrim on twitter. He has also come up with a unique way to overcome the challenge with twiiter of finding people.... He is creating a comprehensive list of Internet Marketers. The people on it range in skill sets from Social Media Experts, Search Optimization Experts, Search Marketing Experts, and other general Internet Marketing Gurus. Now if someone could create a way to auto upload that list to twitter that would be even better. I love twitter for its recency - I must say for me the challenge is tracking conversations - I find that very clumsy. | ||||||||

January 19th I am getting a ton of follower requests from this. its both cool and odd. some of the people aren't marketers at all. i admit i don't try hard to check all their pages out. how do you guys feel about just adding people blindly? do you know all your followers?

January 19th I tend to follow anyone who is into the same things I am, SEM, SEO, SMM etc.
If you follow to many people then information overload sets in and you cannot really "connect" with the people on your list. I can tell you a little something about 95% of the people on my list, I try and keep it personal in some form or fashion. Reply

January 19th Kathryn, after the list was created, I would say I know probably 40% of the people following me (and that's dropping rapidly)...I'm not overly concerned that strangers are following me as I don't really twit about information that i don't want in the public domain...and at he end of the day - if you are concerned about any of your followers - you can always block them.
You'll find a cleansing process will occur, as not all the people that have chosen to follow you (or me) will find our tweats interesting in the long term... As for them not being marketers - that makes sense. You'll have lots of people who are just interested in the online marketing space following you (business owners, students etc etc).... Reply

January 20th I find that I have had to cut down on my RSS feeds, TWITTER and other such internet things as you end up being overcome by noise. There is just so much out stuff that you become overcome by the noise. I find that by cutting down my information that I actually get more done and learn more.
