CNET News are reporting that Digg is going to try and prevent groups from skewing voting of news items.

They have released a new algorithm which will see  the most popular news dugg by a diverse, unique group of diggers reaching the home page.

This is a step in the right direction, as it gives each person a fairer chance of getting their news shown on the home page.

This forces the marketer to get creative rather than just churn out step by step instructions a million times over again. Unlikely that such content will get bookmark naturally, but by fellow marketers returning the favor. Still the system encourages group conspiracy. Isn’t it human to vote for a friend, build a large group and use the fact?
