According to the New York Times, the Yahoo! board plans on rejecting Microsoft's $44.6 billion bid on Monday, believing the offer seriously undervalues Yahoo!'s worth.
Several options were discussed in the board meeting on Friday, as the company explored various ways to maintain Yahoo!'s independence including a potential advertising deal with Google, which could significantly increase the company's revenue.
The idea of selling out isn't off the table, as the board explored ways of tempting Microsoft to increase the bid. According to an insider, Yahoo! wont look at offers under $40 per share. Does Microsoft see $57.5 billion as a sound investment?...i guess we'll find out over the coming weeks. | |
