Silicon Valley Insider posted on Friday that IAC/InterActiveCorp were planning on dumping Teoma, Ask's search engine, and looking to source search results from Google. The rumor is believed to have contributed to the 7% decline in IAC's share price on Friday.
Then Reuters weighed into the discussion, with a source close the matter reporting that the blog post was incorrect and the rumors false.
Considering there's been no formal announcement from IAC yet...it seems its one "insiders" word against anothers. i'm sure Barry Diller, or one of the other Ask execs, will put out an official statement shortly to confirm or dispel the speculation. | |
