Surprised no-one else has posted this here as it is appearing in countless other feeds.

Kevin Kelly has written a great post called 1,000 True Fans.

The gist of it is that any individual artist or business person only needs 1,000 true fans to make a decent living of around $100,000 p.a.

It's an exceptionally well thought out and well written post which, as i said, has generated an enormous buzz around the net.

It will probably become one of those seminal posts, even an "idea virus" that will become required reading for all marketers both offline and online.
