Reuters have reported that MySpace has formed an online music venture with three major recording companies in a challenge to Apple Inc's dominant iTunes Music Store.

These 3 major recording companies are Universal Music Group, Sony BMG Music Entertainment and Warner Music Group, leaving out EMI, the fourth of the big music companies.

MySpace is looking to take away some of the market share that iTunes controls. iTunes currently takes 70 percent of digital download sales.
