October 2007 It's already an important "marketing" play. Not sure how it will play into SEO, but for your Google reputation management-it should help you "own" one of the results for a search for your name.

October 2007 I'm going to go out on a limb and say yes. I know many of my profiles are indexed in the various search engines and if Facebook is to be as well, I might as well add links relevant to the Facebook community, but not just another link farm page. Considering the value of search in being found when you should be, it may be a good idea if it allows you to make your profile indexable or not. I'm sure the profiles will be another tool for the HR types, browsing and doing checks on new talent. Might wanna check out your photos and live feed :)
If you have a group setup, I would totally optimize the content jsut to test to see what type of placement you receive. If you're a brand you don't want to be caught offguard when some 16 year old makes a group about you and provides the Top 10 reasons They Hate You. Facebook is another piece of your online reputation so SEO is always important. Reply
