I was in an eCommerce meeting discussing the up coming holidays and "Cyber Monday" came up. After some research I found our previous years stats did not reflect a spike in sales on that day. I then proceeded to read articles on the internet and again, it appears it is just hype http://www.news.com/Cyber-Monday-more-myth-than-reality/2100-1017_3-6137302.html Thoughts? | ||

October 2007 i agree Dan...business type would definitely influence whether cyber monday is a reality...similar to "black friday"...I also think consumers are less predictable in their buying behaviour...some are starting to purchase earlier...
online retailers help to perpetuate the "cyber day" concept...running sales and special offers around that period will naturally force a spike on these days...everyone loves a bargain. Reply

October 2007 It's probably just another day Hallmark wants to turn into a Holiday so they can sell cards.
Seriously, though - Has anyone noticed a spike in traffic - even if there's no spike in sales? I would think that people might want to check out products after hearing about them from their coworkers - or even family members. Just a guess. Reply
