October 2007 I use 3rd person because it allows my bio to be published on other sites - conferences etc.

October 2007 Mine's in 3rd and I have to say that I hadn't thought about it much other than 3rd seemed more professional, but this is making me reconsider!

October 2007 djnelson -- I have a 3rd person bio that I send for speaking engagements b/c it's something somebody reads about you as you're there in person. I often just use that bio since it's ready. For this site I re-wrote it to be first person b/c I'm saying it about myself.

October 2007 Mine is in 1st person as I am not popular enough on the web for third person. On a more serious note, I just don't see a need for third person.

October 2007 As it happens, I just posted mine (having only just joined). I took one of the stock bio's I've used in the past and pasted it in, but then went through and edited the whole thing from 3rd person into 1st. It just seemed rather more natural and fitting for a service like this. Conversational style trumps formal corporate blah. IMHO.
