Ok, so this may not be new to everyone else, but I just noticed it and I am wondering how it works because I can't figure this out. I want to compare my metrics over two separate time periods but I can't see where you do that. I even went back and re-read it to make sure it could be done - apparently it is an option. Let me know if you have done this successfully and how to do it.

October 2007 There are a few 3rd party apps that let you do this pretty easily...
marinsoftware is one. I beta tested it and really liked it. I do most of my analysis using excel. I also use the AdWords Editor to really dig into my account. The Panama interface is great for greating quick comparisons on the fly. Reply

October 2007 Straight from AdWords, you can do this there. Head to your Reports tab
/start google text You can easily view reports for any date range for which data exists. The date range selector at the top right of your report pages allows you to select a date range, and optionally to compare that range to another date range of your choosing. Click the down arrow next to the date to access the date range selector. Once you've selected a new date range, click Apply Range to update your report. To select a single date
To select a specific week
To select a range of dates
To compare two different ranges : Select the Comparison checkbox and follow the instructions above to select a date range. Change values in your reports will be calculated against the selected Comparison range. Remember: once you've selected a new date range, click Apply Range to update your report. Reply

October 2007 I have not yet seen this particular "Adwords Feature 10-23" , however if you use the google-analytics, this option is definitely in there. It sits right under the adjustable date range field in many of the on-screen reports.
I used to use this analytics application was it was called Urchin. In some ways, having Google take it over has improved a number of very useful retail tracking parts of the application beyond what I played with in Urchin version 6. It was surprising to me ( until i thought about it ) that the google analytics program is able to do limited tracking of adword campaigns that send visitors into a site even without the adwords tracking code for the particular adword campaign. It is instead using the customers' refer field and doing a pretty good job of reporting all kinds of statistics based on just that one field. Trevor Reply
