Here's a challenge, and hopefully some fun, for the marketing minds of the Gooruze community.

I want to add an online marketing quiz to my website. I'd like you to help me create a top-notch set of questions and answers.

In return, I'll include an acknowledgement with a link back to this Q&A.

Guidelines as follows:

(1) The quiz will have the same format and style as the original quick quiz

(2) I'm looking for around 5-15 questions, plus correct answers with brief explanations. I can make up the wrong answers.

(3) Questions should also relate to either website content or website planning and strategy. For example, a question about why to use an RSS feed for marketing would be suitable. A question about how to code one correctly would not.

(4) Target audience is, broadly speaking, business owners/managers. Think in terms of typical business clients of any web development firm you know.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

James.

Well, that was a real conversation stopper...maybe I made it sound too much like homework. Let me try another angle - what do you think people running businesses need to know about online marketing, but don't?

I think the biggest challenge we find with our clients as an example is they don't get/have basic analytics and so are more interested in showing up in google than understanding how traffic converts to leads which hopefully are tracked to sales.

Next biggest challenge - they think it is all about the website - and not the outcomes of the website.

"...more interested in showing up in google than understanding how traffic converts to leads..."

OK,  turned into a quiz question, that might become:

"What's more important than getting a lot of traffic to your website?"

On the subject of website vs. outcomes - this article by Gerry McGovern might be of interest.
