For anyone using Adwords, do you remember how long (in the beginning) it took to establish performance history and start seeing lower minimum required CPCs on your new account(s)? I have a few accounts that have been active since before I started with the company, so our CPCs are low now. I've just created a new Adwords account, and am paying four times as much for these same keywords as I am in my already established accounts. Any idea on how long it will take for these min CPCs to decrease in my new account? | ||

November 2007 Aside from the fact that it's AdWords algo-based, I don't think it's possible to quantify a universal length of time due to differing search market factors such as:
- CTR performance - The competition's bidding practices (competition density, bid aggression level, keyword match type, geo-targeting, time-parting, variable bidding etc.) - Quality score (bid amount x ad text and landing page keyword-richness x CTR x speculatively: time spent before the bounce back) In other words, your keyword performance and the resulting CPC maturity time in one account will unlikely be the same in another account. Besides, I'd argue that it's impossible to recreate the same market conditions because your biggest variable is search volume. I'd recommend continuing to follow best practices. Then again, lower CPC might mean higher click allowance, but not necessarily higher conversion rates. Reply
