November 20th A very similar question was asked last month here.
There are some great answers there so you may also want to check that Q&A out :) Reply

November 20th It depends on the audience you are trying to reach. If you are issuing a PR to reach the media/journalists, then go with Business Wire, PRWeb etc. If you just want to spread your content and get some links, then go with a freebie service.
However, be careful about issuing the same release over multiple newswire services. It's the PR equivalent of sending email spam. Reply

November 19th I use both a mix of paid and free distribution. Paid services always seem to have better reach than the free ones so I guess you get what you pay for. Many paid services also have the benefit of providing statistics on your release. Reply

November 19th I've used PR Newswire in the past, full paid service. Gets you on Yahoo News, Google News (for memory...been a while). Obviously like anything in marketing it's a numbers game so you want to maximise the eyeballs reading your release, which is why I've usually paid and gone with the top service. There are any number of free or low priced services now, most of them are same old, same old. No reason why you shouldn't use them but in some regards you'd have better luck writing an article for a site like ezine-articles.com, you're longer term brand exposure will in most cases be strong and you'll see better results than a free PR service
