Interesting list.  Maybe a third of them are in my reader already.

Some random thoughts in no order:
  • It's a true testament to Jen that she has no time to regularly blog and still makes everyone's list. I asked her about it at SES San Jose.  She said the delay between posts is simply a matter of that missing 25th hour.
  • Marketing Pilgrim is missing.  That's not pandering.  Beyond the dozen or so blogs our company publishes, there are 5 or 6 I never miss every day, and Andy's is one of them.
  • SEL is an interesting choice.  I don't know what it looks like a year from now because their authors are obviously world-class SMEs in each niche.
  • I agree that TC should make the list, and I guess ValleyWag too only because they're the Perez Hilton of our world.
  • Others I might add to my list:  at least one black hat blog (you don't have to be black hat, but you darn well better know how it works), Bruce Clay (I don't think they have a fancy name -- someone correct me if I'm wrong), Jonathan Mendez (especially because he throws tons of data in -- very actionable).
  • You also need a domain site so probably Domain Name News.
  • I'll plug my favorite.  Donna Fotentot's SEO-Scoop is one of my favorite to read because she always gets into the weeds with the working folk.   I can't count the number of times I've seen a SE issue or other online trend and read about it in Donna's blog later.  She also commands big-time respect in the industry.
  • So does Sphinn count or is it just a SEL off-shoot?  It's a different brand.  I would count it.

I'm not sure if I agree with that list in terms of the 'mass market'. I think most of those blogs are geared mostly towards proper online marketers - except for the likes of ProBlogger...

I have to agree with my friend here on this one. I have been looking online for info on internet marketing (while my friend Angieh here has been trying to help me understand things better) but I seem to find website from people who claim to be the true gurus of web promotion and money making online like John Chow, Brad Fallon, and so on. I notice that these types of people are not included in the Top 50 Most Influential Bloggers in the Mass Market - although I have read these types of people have quite a large following.

bj - that is certainly a great list for online marketing related blogs.
i wonder how many of them are aware of Gooruze?
Is your question in relation to non online marketing blogs?
If so I would have to say TechCrunch and ValleyWag ;)

I was hoping to get more online marketing related blogs, but the AdAge 150 list is pretty good if your PR firm has a relationship with any of these bloggers: http://adage.com/power150/, then again you do have Andy right at #12
