Directory Submission Companies

Directory submissions just seem like a waste of time expect for like 2-3 of them. I am not sure how much value you will see out of pursuing this tactic, let alone letting someone else do it.

Assuming you're talking about free directories, I totally disagree, and I believe (for now) there are dozens of directories that are not even remotely a waste of time.  Many paid directories also absolutely have some value (for now)

If the directory homepage has PR, and the ultimate page where your link will exist has PR, and there is no JavaScript or no follow tags or other masking on the outbound links, then you know it's passing PR, and you're going to get an inbound link that's not worthless, and in some cases may not only pass link juice would even drive traffic.

When it comes to deciding what category to list in, choose a higher PR and a lower quantity of outbound links.

However, the directory submission services do all tend to suck, and we have someone dedicated to every client account that plugs away monthly at our own evolving directory list.

Creating your title,  URL and description in notepad you can copy and paste your way through quite a few directories in a fairly short amount of time.

i agree shendison...there are many free directories that provide great value for websites...

i was helping out a friend with her pilates website recently and got her a few free listings in health and wellbeing style directories. all her directory listings have since been spidered, and given the niche nature of the directories - they're probably providing her site with some reasonably valuable link juice...
