I've got a neutral position as this was my previous agency, but I'm interested in hearing from the PR experts/bloggers/journalists out there if this 60-some comment article would be seen as a success or blunder? (Please focus more on the activity beyond the article itself, I enjoy reading Duncan's articles) Biz in A Box The reason I ask is that this is a good lesson to all startups who plan on engaging their audience when they launch new products. | ||

December 2007 i would be interested to know why they changed strategy?
it looks like horses for courses, it may help some, but certainly not experienced entrepreneurs. i hope people that do use these services have their expectations set right.... this is likely not to be the real solution but it may 'help'. Reply

December 2007 I would consider this a success because of the following: 1) Have people actively taking a perspective on the subject of the article 2) The number of people who commented is a fraction of the readers who saw the posting and didn't comment 3) The article was probably passed around, therefore expanding the scope of the original audience for the article 4) A company representative particpated in the discussion by responding to comments I would also like to determine how many new contacts, prospects, inquiries the company received as a result of the post. Did traffic also increase to the site? These will further indicate the success. In this day and age, the conversation generated - both "positive" and "negative" - demonstrates the passion of the topic, which ultimately reflects positively on the company. Reply
