Hi, I recently installed the GA code to our old website in order to get a base visitor figure prior to the launch of the new site. The code seems to be installed ok but theres no figures. Way i see it theres two possibilities here: 1: we have no site traffic (or the code is still gathering data) 2: Our content filter is messign the tracking up - which i suspect could be at least part of the problem. The problem with our filter is - external traffic can get to the site (duckco.com) no problem - but internally we can't access it by typing the URL - instead we have to type in an ip to get to it. This seems pretty screwy to me - does that sound like something that would be messing with the code? (For the record - our sites hosted on our own internal server right now) hope someone can help out here - if we have no traffic on this site, thats one issue, but if its a code things it's a whole different issue. Thanks guys, | ||

January 2008 On the Google Analytics page where you view your website profiles there is a status column. If the website is being tracked there should be a green check mark and it should say "Receiving Data Conversion Goals(...). If the website is not being tracked it is highlighted in light purple and says: "Tracking code not verified". I checked the scripts on a couple of your pages they seem to be installed correctly. I noticed that you are using the new version of GA. Have you tried using the old version instead? Just a thought. I know for sure that you received at least one visit today (me)...hope the info is what you were looking for and that it helps. Reply

January 2008 Hi,
Yeah - after a little playing with our content filter - the stats starting coming in. thanks for clicking through for me - not much going on there i'll grant you. (S'why they brought me on board - redevelop the site, add shiny bells n whistles etc etc) I'm so glad we're moving to an outside host - the whole content filter thing here is screwy to say the least. Yaaaay - now i can go obsess about site traffic. - Actually not really, this is more just to give some before and after figures. Thanks again Reply
