 The latest craze in the real estate business is blogging. There have emerged some experts in this field, one of which is www.realestatetomato.com (designers of wordpress based blogs). We have created several Wordpress based blogs, but are looking to spend money and get some professionals involved. We really like www.liveinalpharetta.com From what I have read, it would appear the Drupal is the better platform for creating a community based website, however I can not find any good exaple of a Drupal site doing what we want to do. Our goal is to create community specific websites that focus on community and get the invovlement of "community surfers"...we want these sites to be the number one place to go to get information about a community...they'd be great for relo people. Our current site is www.soldonroswell.com Now...based on what I have detailed above, would we be better off staying with Wordpress or moving to Drupal. Does anyone have any good real estate community websites using Drupal? | ||

February 2008 Wordpress is by far the better blogging platform but Drupal is better for forming groups (Wordpress is weak in this area). Drupal is also a decent blogging platform, just not quite as strong as Wordpress. It sounds like you want a solid blogging platform with the ability to form groups. If so, go with Drupal. Drupal has blogging capabilities built in and you can then add on the Organic Group modules to start group functions. You can then add on a lot of other capabilities that may be of interest for groups - group forums, buddy lists, email updates just by group and more. I run an open site where I install a lot of group related modules on Drupal so people can see how it works. Take a look at www.groupmill.com.
