Do you bother doing Yahoo CPC or do you just focus on Google Adwords?
Would love to hear why...

Advantages of yahoo and other search engines ! Compared to GOOGLE! Cost per click for the Keywords will be less when compared with Google search engine, thus we can get some traffic at cheap cost for those keywords for which we not affordable in google. Also it has less number of competitors.

I get much better conversion from Yahoo for my "energy conserving" search engine Goobony.com  I believe that Yahoo Search appeals more to a business oriented, mature (probably older?) market, so it works great for niche websites that appeal to that market. But the funny thing is that I get more traffic from Yahoo also.  Nonetheless, I always use Google adwords to stay visible to the Google community as well.

Its good to try which works best for your business and niche. I had better conversions from Yahoo than Google, but still I get better traffic from Google. Haven't tried MSN yet through.

I think you should ALWAYS test on at least all 3 of the big engines (including MSN Adcenter).

One will perform better than the other so you can allocate more funds to that engine, but optimized properly, all 3 should be able to drive targeted converting traffic to your site with a good ROI.

My experience is that Searchers who use a specific Engine will generally stick to that engine. If you're not advertising there then you are definately missing out on potential visitors. I actually did a spot check on Google vs. Yahoo and discovered a higher conversion rate with Yahoo than Google. Numbers are less and everything is much s-l-o-w-e-r, but if conversion is the name of the game i strongly recommend casting out the "net"!
