does anyone know how Google determines what text to display for a website's "sitelinks" when it has the top search result?

ineedhits has now got "Google Guaranteed" as one of our links. While that's a great, I'm not sure how Google chose the link text....any ideas?

It looks like it is pulling the link title based on what it has indexed as the main headline for the page. Take a look at the text only version that google has cached, you can see what that stands out...

You can always remove a site link by going into your WebMaster Tools, clicking on 'Links' on the right hand side, and then 'Sitelinks'. It will show you what it has picked up and you have the option to block a particular link.

I see what you're trying to say...but there is actually no reference to "Google Guaranteed" on the page anywhere...Why didn't it choose "Google Listing" or Listing Guaranteed"

do see my point? still confused....but not complaining

Hmmm. I see "Google Listing Guaranteed" in my results, which is exactly jumps out on that resulting page. What are you searching for? We might be hitting different servers...

According to a post at Internet Marketing in 10 Minutes

"Google displays Sitelinks based on what the searcher has searched for. Google will return the most useful and relevant results. If Google thinks that some of your pages listed within Webmaster Tools are relevant then they will display."

You'll find the rest of the article here.

Hope this helps.
